Whether you are seeking a secluded rural retreat for a few days peace and quiet, or a convenient base from which to explore the surrounding area, you will really enjoy your stay at Whitensmere Farm Cottages.
Here, in the beautiful rolling countryside of the Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Essex borders, sympathetically converted 18th century farm buildings cluster around an attractive south-facing courtyard garden. Each cottage has its own private patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. A separate children's play area with a Wendy house, swings, a climbing frame, and other items including toys and trikes for toddlers. There is a shared drying room, and each cottage has a telephone point where the shared payphone can be connected.
There are three cosy, self-contained cottages to choose from, each comfortably furnished and equipped to a very high standard, with colour TV, video, radio, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge freezer, storage heaters and a fire alarm.
All towels and linen (except for cots) are provided, together with games, books and toys, and a basket of logs for the fire. Cots, high chairs and a z-bed are available upon request. Fresh flowers and a welcome pack will greet you on arrival. The cottages are cared for personally by the owners, who live in an adjacent farmhouse and can provide farmhouse meals and babysitting by arrangement. Over the Christmas and New Year period each cottage is individually decorated with a tree, table decorations and garlands, creating a festive atmosphere.
